Functions
- Provide support for curriculum implementation in the schools
- Support schools' efforts to accelerate student achievement
- Coordinate and provide staff development opportunities for teachers and administrators
- Provide resources for instructional materials as resources become available
- Communicate with teachers
- Assist schools to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Coordinate the revisions and updates of Curriculum Framework documents and develop supplemental resources to assist teachers' implementation of the curriculum frameworks
- Coordinate the implementation of the Colorado Basic Literacy Act
- Administer the district curriculum program review and textbook adoption process
- Work with Staff Development Department to support standards-based practices in the implementation of district curriculum standards
- Provide support to teachers and administrators in aligning classroom instruction and assessment to district curriculum
- Provide orientation and support for new teachers in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Ensure articulation between Learning Services and programs for special needs students (G/T, Special Education, ESL)
- Communicate curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs to parents and community
- Support the writing of grants to procure additional funding for curricular programs
- Support the acquisition and integration of instructional technology to enhance student learning
- Support community and university partnerships that focus on curriculum and instruction
