Enrollment Overview

In-district families who wish to attend their boundary school can simply follow the instructions for enrollment on the enrollment page.

In-district families who wish to attend a school other than their boundary school can apply for Choice during the specified timelines.  In extenuating circumstances in-district students can request a change of school assignment through the family-initiated school transfer process.

Out-of-district families who wish to attend a school in Adams 12 Five Star Schools can only apply for admissions via the Choice program as family-initiated transfers are only available to in-district families. 

Boundary Locator

The Planning Department maintains the boundary locator which provides school of attendance information for residences within the Five Star District.

Boundary Maps

The Planning Department maintains boundary maps of all school levels, individual schools and Director District boundaries among other assorted maps.

Boundary Process

The Planning Department evaluates school attendance area boundaries to determine if there is a need for adjustments.  More information about the different processes used to change boundaries can be found on the Boundary Process webpage.

Choice Program

The Admissions Office manages admissions to traditional district boundary schools for non-boundary students and to district magnet schools via the Choice process.


The Admissions Office manages the enrollment process and provides guidance and direction to schools regarding enrollment procedures.

Foreign Exchange

The Admissions Office approves foreign exchange agencies allowing them to place students in our Five Star District high schools and provides support to foreign exchange counselors regarding district policies and procedures.


The Admissions Office manages the homeschool enrollment process for Adams 12 Five Star Schools.


The Admissions Office provides support to Learning Services, schools and parents regarding kindergarten options in the district.


Adams 12 Five Star Schools offers preschool to a limited number of CPP qualifying children.  Admissions to the preschool program are managed directly by the Early Childhood Education Department.

School Transfers

The Admissions Office serves as the superintendent’s designee in the family-initiated transfer process and can provide guidance and information about the transfer request process.
