Community

Strong schools build strong communities. Strong communities support strong schools.
People say it's pretty easy to get an overwhelming sense of pride when their community sees nearly 39,000 reasons to stand strongly behind its neighborhood schools. Clearly, the Five Star community sees unmistakable value in the success of all students.

Strong schools build strong communities and strong communities support strong schools.

That support was confirmed in fall 2004 when our community backed a mill levy override and bond issue for the Adams 12 Five Star Schools. Our neighbors, young and old and from all corners of our five communities, showed their commitment to the long-term health and vitality of the Five Star community. By holding school leaders accountable for developing and implementing a comprehensive plan, our community entrusted us with resources to ensure that all of our children learn and grow so they'll be successful in their next stage of life.

Parents are getting more involved. They're asking harder, more sophisticated questions about their child's achievement. And, they're taking new steps to continue their child's learning at home.

Partnerships with our cities and counties have turned a new corner. Leaders from these important groups are embracing the challenge of thinking outside the box and developing new ways to do business with our schools.

The Adams 12 Five Star Schools are your schools, so take a closer look at our progress as we fulfill our promises to you. Stop by your neighborhood school. Visit with the staff and students who put a face on the issues so essential to building a strong community.
