A new defensive driving class for students who are 15 years and six months old

The State of Colorado enacted a new law which became effective on July 1, 2004 changing the requirements for issuance of an instruction permit to young drivers. Completion of a new four hour defensive driving class allows students who are 15 years and six months old to now qualify for an instruction permit.
Presentation of the class completion form at a Division of Motor Vehicle Office enables the student to obtain a driving instruction permit.
