Construction about 65 percent complete on school scheduled to open in August


STEM Lab staff tours new building renovation, addition

With the first phase of construction on STEM Lab in Northglenn now past the halfway mark, school teachers and staff got an up-close look at the construction during a recent tour.

The school is in the midst of a multi-phased, $20 million renovation that will transform the 47-year-old building into a state-of-the-art learning environment for more than 700 students from across the district.


Start of steelwork planned for Arapahoe Ridge expansion in March

March will be a big month for the ongoing expansion of the Arapahoe Ridge Elementary in Westminster.

According to the current construction timeline, steel work on the 18,000-square-foot expansion is scheduled to begin about mid-March. The start of construction on the addition's steel skeleton marks a major milestone in project.


Cotton Creek construction accelerates in February

Site challenges that slowed initial progress on the Cotton Creek expansion were left behind in February as construction accelerated on the project.

Drilling and pouring of foundational caissons finished in February, which allowed work to begin on the preparation and pouring of concrete grade beams and foundation walls for the Westminster school's 14,000-square-foot addition. 


Community Board of Education meeting to focus on bond progress

Parents and community members are invited to join the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, at Northglenn High School.

The meeting will include a presentation from the Long Range Planning Advisory Committee (LRPAC) on the 2016 Bond Program, a discussion about the district's ELEVATE strategic planning and information about a potential state school funding ballot measure.
