FutureForward at Washington Square campus expected to open in Fall 2020
STEM Lab in Northglenn has been a frenetic hub of construction activity for more than two years. However, as the project reaches its final full month of construction, an eerie calm has settled over the building.
Scattered construction workers - a far cry from the army of contractors that descended on the building during peak construction - now complete tasks that bring the building toward its expected July substantial completion date.
District schools and facilities became construction zones in June as summer bond construction work reached full speed.
Old carpet and flooring came up and walls came down as contractors spent much of the month in demolition mode so they could start adding new improvements.
Improvements happening in schools and facilities include new playgrounds, mechanical system upgrades, new features for specials and fine arts classrooms, safety improvements and classroom technology upgrades.

Summer 2020 will be another busy season of bond work in the Five Star District with 20 projects planned at schools and facilities across the district.
While the presence of the Coronavirus has brought unfortunate impacts - including the abrupt end of in-person student learning for the 2019-2020 school year, it has allowed for some projects to get a slightly earlier start.
Despite the changes and challenges of the past few months and with an eye toward health and safety, construction has been able to steadily move forward.
