Do I need to accompany my child to a testing site?

Testing will not be conducted without parent consent and parents of students in elementary and K-8 schools will need to accompany their child to the testing location. Parents of middle and high school students will not need to accompany their child if registration has already been completed online.

When parents register online, they should select onsite screening so that students are eligible for ongoing regular testing without needing to re-register.

What tests are offered?

Testing at COVIDCheck Colorado sites is completed via nasal PCR test and results will be returned within 36-72 hours.

At our mobile school sites, testing will be completed with SalivaDirect™.  With SalivaDirect™, saliva samples are self-collected under the supervision of a medical professional and then transported to a local lab, enabling results to be delivered to individuals within 48 hours and potentially sooner.  SalivaDirect™ is an FDA Emergency Use Authorization-approved PCR testing protocol.

Saliva test participants should not have any food or drink 30 minutes before the test and no water 10 minutes before the test.

For information about the tests available at other CCC locations, see their website

Adams 12 Five Star Schools mobile COVID test samples are transferred on a daily basis to COVIDCheck Colorado to undergo analysis.

COVIDCheck Colorado takes the following steps with samples

  • After samples are run, they are stored by the lab refrigerator for 30 days; samples are kept for this duration in the event a rerun is required. It is a Quality Assurance Standard Operating Procedure.
  • The lab, where samples are tested and stored, is secure under strict guidelines including a lock at the front door and a keypad lock into the lab space itself.
  • Samples are disposed by a biohazard disposal company that picks up the samples from the lab and safely disposes of them at a separate facility
