21st Century Skills
In today’s rapidly changing world, 21st Century Skills will be essential for success, and Adams 12 graduates will need relevant skills to compete on the global stage. These skills include digital literacy, the capacity to navigate and critically evaluate information and media in the digital realm; technological competency, the practical skills to utilize digital tools, platforms and artificial intelligence; and digital wellness, the respectful, responsible, and ethical use of technology. These skills are interwoven with social-emotional learning (SEL), which builds skill in self-awareness, self-regulation, relationship skills and responsible decision making.

By fostering these competencies, Adams 12 graduates will be empowered to:
- thrive in an increasingly technological society
- collaborate and communicate effectively
- navigate complex landscapes with resilience and empathy
Why It Matters:
- Basic technology competency is no longer enough. Graduates need to be comfortable using a range of digital tools for communication, collaboration, and problem-solving
- Wellness matters. As our world grows increasingly technological, prepared graduates will need to manage their digital footprint, understand the impact of technology on their well-being, and cultivate a healthy relationship with digital tools.
- Today, our schools are preparing students for jobs that might not yet exist. Graduates will need a versatile set of skills to prepare them for the unknown, and employers are increasingly seeking individuals who can analyze information, make sound judgments, and develop innovative solutions.

Graduates need to be able to find, evaluate, and use information effectively from a variety of digital sources. Graduates will need to discern credible information from misinformation and adapt to the increasingly integrated physical and digital realms.
