After School Program
- When: Every Monday and Tuesday except elementary school holidays or closures.
- Time: 3:15pm-5:30pm
- Where: Vantage Point High School Cafeteria
10900 Huron St, Northglenn, CO 80234
The program will provide a snack, physical activity, homework help/tutoring, and mentoring. Intensive tutoring for specific subjects can be provided on a case by case basis. There are also tutors who will be onsite to help with drop-in tutoring needs for any grade level. Drop-in tutoring doesn't require participation in the rest of the after school program but the students that utilize the drop in tutoring will need to fill out the registration form so that the on site director will have all necessary emergency information for the students.
The program will cover computer, math and science topics on Monday with instruction provided by Native instructors. For grades 6 - 12 we will work with Raspberry pi and some electronics.
Tuesday afternoon will focus on a variety of cultural topics also provided by a variety of Native cultural instructors.
We will also be utilizing high school students to help facilitate the programs in addition to the tutors. If you are a high school student and would like to help please contact the Native Education Youth Advocate, Phillip Gover at 303-549-5581.
