From preschool through high school, Adams 12 Five Star Schools offers a variety of programs to enhance the educational experience of students, thereby preparing them for the next stage of their lives by providing them with the skills, knowledge, and expertise to thrive.

Early Childhood (Preschool)

Available at 12 schools across the district. To best serve our entire community, the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Early Childhood Education Program offers three preschool options:

  • Tuition-Based Preschool - Competitively-priced preschool for early learners
  • Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) - Free preschool for students that qualify based on certain risk factors
  • Special Education (Child Find) - Free preschool for students that qualify based on developmental delays

Alternative Education

Application Programs 

  • Crossroads Middle School (Grades 6-8)
    An alternative middle school that offers individualized, student-centered programming designed to increase academic success for students in grades 6-8.
  • Vantage Point High School (Grades 9-12)
    An alternative high school that offers an individualized, student-centered program designed to serve students in grades 9-12 who are at risk of not graduating.
  • Pathways Future Center (Ages 17 and older)

    An alternative education campus which uses a blended learning model to meet the needs of students looking to earn a traditional or competency-based diploma.

Referral Programs 

  • Vista View (Grades 6-12)
    Vista View provides services to Adams 12 Five Star Schools students that have been expelled from middle and high school for violating district policy concerning student discipline. Vista View seeks to meet the academic and social emotional needs of expelled students.

Special Education

Adams 12 offers a full continuum of services for students with disabilities.  All schools are equipped to meet the mild/moderate needs of students with disabilities, while a variety of center-based programs and more intensive services are offered at multiple schools throughout the district.  

Referral Programs 

  • Adult Supported Transition and Recreation Program (ASTAR) (Ages 18-21)
    ASTAR is a special education program for students with severe cognitive disability. Due to age and limitations in functional academics, the program more intensively focuses in the area of transition and life skills.

  • Independence Academy (Grades 6-12) Independence Academy offers in-district students (grades 6-12) on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and with challenging behavior an opportunity to learn new academic and behavioral skills in a small, therapeutic setting.
