Graduation Guidelines Committee

House Bill 07-1118

In 2007 the Colorado State Legislature passed House Bill 07-1118 requiring the development of state high school graduation guidelines. Colorado school districts are to adopt revisions to local graduation requirements that meet or exceed the state high school graduation guidelines for the Class of 2021 and beyond. 

Graduation Guidelines Committee

The Graduation Guidelines Committee was created to ensure an inclusive and thoughtful engagement process that would encourage multiple stakeholder perspectives in suggesting graduation requirement revisions.  The committee was comprised of principals, teachers, counselors, administrators, content coordinators, students, parents, community members and a mililtary representative.

Committee members hosted 15 community engagement sessions allowing parents, students and staff members the opportunity to provide feedback on potential revisions to the graduation requirements for the class of 2021 and beyond. All feedback was collected and presented to the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Board of Education on May 3, 2017.
