District selects construction manager for new Anthem School
Adolfson and Peterson Construction awarded new P-8 Anthem project
Adams 12 Five Star Schools recently selected Adolfson and Peterson Construction as the Construction Manager/General Contractor for the new P-8 school in the Anthem neighborhood of Broomfield. Through a request for proposal process, 828 vendors were notified of the solicitation for a construction manager/general contractor via Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System (BidNet), 91 vendors downloaded the document and six submitted responses.
The evaluation committee, comprised of district leadership and a contributing member from Hord Coplan Macht, architect for the Anthem school, reviewed, evaluated and scored all responses based on pre-established criteria. Three vendors with the highest scores were selected for further interviews and presentations on their staffing plan, experience, project schedules and fees, and contingency use. The district's evaluation committee determined Adolfson and Peterson Construction's response provides the best overall value for the district.
The notice of award as the construction manager/general contractor for the new P-8 school in Anthem was extended to and accepted by Adolfson and Peterson Construction on Nov. 28, 2016.
The proposed Anthem P-8 school is part of the district's $350 million bond program approved by voters in the November 2016 election. The district plans to open the Anthem school in August 2018 to address current overcrowding and continued growth in the district. The school is projected to serve 900 K-8 students and 128 preschool students. The projected construction budget for the new Anthem P-8 school is $31.0 to $36.5 million.
