Virtual & in-person ceremonies scheduled
Congratulations to each of you as you approach the finish line of completing 13 years of school. Like you, we are disappointed that we are unable to come together in-person to recognize your graduating class in the traditional way during May. However, that won’t stop us from honoring and celebrating the many accomplishments of the Class of 2020 through spring and summer.
As Superintendent Gdowski mentioned in his video message last week, we have planned multiple opportunities to celebrate the graduating class.
Virtual Graduation Ceremonies | May 28 - June 12
Pathways Future Center School and our five comprehensive high schools - Horizon, Legacy, Mountain Range, Northglenn and Thornton High School - will celebrate with an official, virtual graduation ceremony, which will include awarding the diploma in May. The recorded virtual ceremony will be released to seniors and families between May 28 and June 12.
Vantage Point High School will celebrate with an official drive-in graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 23 at 8:30 p.m. at the Denver Mart Drive-in.
In-person Ceremonies | July 20-28, 10:00 a.m. at Five Star Stadium
This event will recognize seniors in a traditional graduation format but may not include speakers that presented in the virtual or drive-in ceremonies. Each event will take place at 10 a.m. on the date listed below at Five Star Stadium located at 9351 Washington Street in Thornton.
Horizon - Monday, July 20
Legacy - Tuesday, July 21
Mountain Range - Wednesday, July 22
Northglenn - Thursday, July 23
Thornton - Friday, July 24
Pathways - Monday, July 27
Vantage Point - Tuesday, July 28
Safety guidelines at this event may include things like wearing masks, graduates-only or limited spectator attendance. Keep in mind, this event and these dates are tentative and may change based on guidance from public health.
You will receive additional information from your high school on Friday, May 1, regarding other upcoming senior events. These events include, cap & gown and yearbook pick up, school materials drop off, payment of fees, graduation pictures, locker clean out, etc. We recognize seniors want an opportunity to say goodbye to one another and school staff. Our best hope is to provide these opportunities in the coming weeks and months while following guidance from state and local health officials to keep students and staff safe.
Congratulations again; graduation is a special time and we look forward to celebrating this accomplishment for each and every one of our seniors.
