Attendance Awareness Month

Parents, staff and students partner to support attendance

The Adams 12 Five Star Schools Board of Education proclaims September as Attendance Awareness Month. School success goes hand in hand with good attendance, and it's important to build the habit of good attendance early. Missing 10 percent (or about 18 days) can make it harder to read. Additionally, being late to school may lead to poor attendance.

What You Can Do

  • Set a regular bed time and morning routine.
  • Avoid medical appointments and vacations when school is in session.
  • Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up.
