BTEC students teach Centennial student coding

"Hour of Code" part of district expansion of computer science education

Bollman Technical Education Center (BTEC) students from Bobbie Bastian's computer science classes lead a variety of computer science activities at four elementary schools throughout the week of December 3 as part of Computer Science Education Week's Hour of Code.

The "Buddy with BTEC" program is designed to give elementary students an opportunity to engage in computer science and provide teachers with an opportunity to learn about the types of activities they could lead in future years as well. BTEC students visited with second-grade students Dec. 4 at Centennial Elementary in Broomfield. This event is just one small part of the many ways the Five Star School district is expanding computer science education.
