Group will define vision, mission, values for new school

Adams 12 Five Star Schools is looking for the voice and participation of parents planning for their children to attend the new P-8 School No. 33 currently under construction in the Anthem community of Broomfield.

A evening meeting has been set for 6 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the Parkside Community Center.

P-8 Principal Teresa Benallo explained that the purpose of the group is to bring parents together to help define the vision, mission and values of the new school scheduled to open in August 2018.

"We want parents and community members to play an important role in creating a collaborative vision for the learning and growth that will happen inside this new school and also developing a culture that will make this school a special place for students, families, community and staff," Benallo said.

The district held the first P-8 Base Camp meeting Sept. 1 at the Parkside Community Center in Broomfield. This meeting featured the same topics to be discussed during the upcoming Sept. 27 meeting and repeat attendance is not necessary.

Parents unable to attend either meeting are encouraged to provide their input by completing this mission and values survey.
