Projects to begin in early 2018
Adams 12 Five Star Schools has selected a general contractor to build two major school additions that are scheduled to begin in early 2018.
Centennial-based JHL Constructors was selected through a competitive RFP process to build a 12-classroom expansion at Arapahoe Ridge Elementary in Westminster and an eight-classroom expansion at Cotton Creek Elementary, also in Westminster. As promised in the 2016 Bond Program, the building expansions will allow the district to remove the old modular student classrooms that are currently being utilized at both schools.
JHL Constructors, founded 30 years ago, is one of the most experienced providers of K-12 construction services in Colorado. Some of their other recent school district projects have included partnerships with Aurora and Mapleton Public Schools as well as the completion of the new Stargate School campus in Thornton.
JHL will join RB+B Architects, the firm leading the design effort for both schools. Parents, community members and staff from each school were part of Design Advisory Groups this past spring to provide input during the design process – which is entering its final stages.
Construction on the two schools is anticipated to begin in January 2018 and be finished in time for the start of the 2018-19 school year.
