Two board of education seats up for election this November

Adams 12 Five Star Schools calls for nomination of candidates for two board of education seats up for election this November. Nominated candidates will be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017. 

At this election two directors will be elected, one from Director District No. 3, and one from Director District No. 4 for a four-year term each. Qualified candidates must have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and a resident of the director district which will be represented. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.

A person who desires to be a candidate for school director must file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 50 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the November 2017 school election.

Nomination petitions may be obtained from Frances Mullins, designated election official, beginning Aug. 9, 2017, at the Educational Support Center, 1500 E. 128th Avenue, Thornton, CO 80241. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

Completed petitions must be submitted to Ms. Mullins, no later than 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, 2017.
