Community discusses middle school programming
The Adams 12 Five Star Schools Board of Education hosted a community conversation about plans for new middle school programming at its March 6 board meeting. The dialogue was part of the district’s work in developing Blueprint, a comprehensive academic programming and facilities plan designed to meet the needs of our students today and over the next decade.
While Blueprint proposes investments at all grade levels, those attending the board meeting had a chance to learn about and provide perspective on potential areas of new investment in middle school programming, including:
- Hands-on career and technical education opportunities
- School within a school programs such as dual language, arts integration and more
Some of the key themes from conversations that evening included:
- Attendees valued the focus on middle school and the innovative opportunities
- Participants were excited about new opportunities for middle school students to grow their leadership skills
- Blueprint
