District’s new rating reflects students’ success

The district’s Performance rating reflects academic achievement, growth and postsecondary readiness.

Adams 12 Five Star Schools has been identified as a fully accredited district, analogous to a performance rating for an individual school, by the Colorado Department of Education based on data from the 2025-2026 school year.

These ratings, or performance frameworks, are part of the state’s accountability system and are based on a wide range of data and factors. The district’s Performance rating reflects the strong academic achievement and growth that students demonstrated last school year, the district’s graduation rate, and Five Star students’ college and career readiness.

Together, these results reflect the district’s commitment to empowering every student to achieve. By cultivating a sense of belonging, our educators challenge students through high-quality learning to pursue ambitious goals and prepare for a future of their choosing.

One particularly bright spot among the Five Star District’s data came at the elementary level. For all elementary grade levels tested, the district met or exceeded achievement and growth state expectations for the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) and ACCESS, which is a language proficiency test given to multilingual learners.

“We are so excited to see the hard work of our educators and students reflected in this state rating, and we know we can keep building on this success,” said Chief Academic Officer Megan Cain. “Our goal is to serve students better every year, to make sure that they can be the architects of their future.”
