Factual information about 5B and other election resources

Over the next few weeks, Coloradans will cast their ballots in this year’s General Election, which features state and local measures, including here in Adams 12 Five Star Schools - Ballot Issue 5B.

Election Resources:

  • Ballot Issue 5B: This mill levy override (MLO) would fund ongoing operating expenses, such as: additional staffing and academic programming for students; salaries for teachers and support staff; and investments in safety and security personnel. 
  • Board of Education election: Two board seats are up for election in November - Director Districts 3, and 4, each for a four-year term of office. Three candidates are running. 
  • Important dates:
    • Oct. 10: Ballots start being mailed to active registered voters
    • Oct. 27: Voter Service & Polling Center opens. After this date, it is best to return your ballot to a 24-hour drop box or Voter Service & Polling Center.
    • Nov. 4: Election Day. All ballots must be received by 7 p.m.

  • Fair Campaign Practices Act: It's election season; know the do's and don'ts for staff, families and community members..
