Introducing our new Board of Education

Adams 12 Five Star Schools welcomes one new director and one returning director to the Board of Education. The members were sworn in at the Dec. 1, 2025 regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting.

Meet the newly elected board members:

Board member being sworn in

Ike Anyanwu-Ebo (Director, District 3)

As a district parent and community member, Ike is actively engaged in supporting the district’s success. He previously served on the District Accountability Committee (DAC), and he now aims to bring his professional skills in data analysis to help understand, align and effectively communicate the Board of Education's goals.

My vision for Adams 12 Five Star Schools is to ensure every student has access to a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous environment that prepares them for success in college, career, and life. I believe our schools should be places where every child, regardless of background, neighborhood, or learning style, feels valued, challenged, and equipped with the tools they need to thrive emotionally and academically,” Ike said.

Board member being sworn in

Amira Assad-Lucas (Director, District 4)

Amira recently completed her first term on the Board of Education. As a mother of four, three of whom currently attend district schools and one of whom is a recent graduate, she's proud to call the district home. In her second term, she aims to increase mental health resources and services within district schools.

“My vision is to continue focusing on the whole child and not only strengthening literacy, science, social studies, and math but to also strengthen critical thinking, problem solving, life skills, respect, resilience, and empathy." Amira said.

Both new members are eager to contribute to the district's mission to elevate student success.
