New athletic restroom facilities at district high schools

New athletic restroom facilities at district high schools

As part of the 2024 bond, Adams 12 Five Star Schools is building new restroom facilities to serve athletic fields at all comprehensive high schools, improving comfort, accessibility and overall experience for students, families and community members.

These new facilities will provide convenient, on-site restrooms at district outdoor fields and activity spaces, better supporting day-to-day activities, athletics and community use. The addition of permanent restroom buildings also enhances accessibility and ensures all visitors can more easily enjoy district spaces.

The upgraded facilities will also strengthen the district’s ability to host large athletic events, tournaments and community gatherings. With amenities designed to support higher attendance, these spaces will be better equipped to welcome teams and spectators from across the region.

This year, two high schools – Mountain Range High and Legacy High – will be the first to have athletic restroom facilities constructed, with crews slated to break ground in May and wrap up construction by late fall 2026.

Mountain Range High will have its restroom facility built between its football field/track and its baseball and softball fields. Due to site constraints at Legacy High, two restroom facilities will be built to comply with building code and best support the community: one facility will be built next to Legacy’s football field, and the other will be built to the east of the school’s tennis courts.

Later in the 2024 bond cycle, athletic restroom facilities will be added at the district’s other comprehensive high schools. Horizon High and Northglenn High will see new athletic restroom facilities built by 2030; and Thornton High will have its athletic restrooms built as part of the school’s comprehensive rebuild project, which will be completed by 2030.

These investments reflect the district’s commitment to maintaining safe, functional and welcoming school environments – both during the school day and beyond. By improving infrastructure at athletic fields, Adams 12 continues to expand opportunities for students and the broader community to connect, compete and engage on district campuses.
