Archery hits the mark with students at Centennial
- Collaborate
- Engage
Two years ago, Vivianne Walton, a teacher at Centennial Elementary, advocated to bring an archery program to the school. She knew that it would give our students the opportunity to discover a new sport that was not easily accessible, as well as give our students access to untapped scholarships as they got older. She accessed grants to get staff trained, receive free equipment, then worked with the district's Risk Management department to create a safe environment for the program to succeed.
This program has continued and thrived because of her. This year, for the culminating event, we live streamed an tournament for all parents to see. We are so excited that Centennial students had access to this unique opportunity.
Thank you to Brian Gerwig and Lynn Scanlon for their focus on our students!
