Award-winning author visits Cotton Creek Elementary

The Cotton Creek library staff, along with the bookstore, “The Bookies,” hosted an author visit for our 4th and 5th graders this week called “Read, Write, and Unplug in order to Daydream!” Award-winning author, Polly Holyoke, presented to all fourth and fifth grade classes. Students learned about her new book series, "Skyriders", and about the craft of writing. Ms. Holyoke taught writing workshops to the fifth grade students in which students practiced word choice and how to start a plot of a story! What a treat to be taught by a real author!!
