Centennial focuses on students after winter freeze

- Focus on Students
In January, Centennial Elementary flooded due to several pipes bursting during the winter freeze. The damage was extensive, but within two days our school was open again, thanks to a collaborative effort between the following district teams — Nutrition Services, Maintenance, Learning Services, Warehouse, Purchasing, Risk Management, Operations, Safety & Security, Finance, and so many more.
In every meeting with the district teams, the focus was always on how to best support our students.
From providing meals while we were out of school, to the clean up within hallways and classrooms, the number one goal was always about getting our students back to school as soon as possible and ensuring that it was a safe, welcoming environment.
This collaborative effort was truly an example of living our value of keeping our focus on students!
