Chef teaches families about traditional Indigenous food

In November, our Five Star Native American students and families came together for a hands-on cultural experience. Families gathered with their children to prepare pickled avocados, a traditional South American Indigenous food, guided by professional chef, Andrea Condes (Four Directions Cuisine).

The event—organized and hosted by our Native Youth Advocate, Monique Fredericks—was a powerful example of how we collaborate and engage as a district. By creating space for cultural learning, storytelling, and family connection, AIPAC continues to strengthen relationships and elevate Native voices across our schools.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and to Monique for leading such a meaningful day of learning, tradition, and community.
