Cherry Drive students learn ways to improve peer interactions
- Care
- Social-Emotional Learning
Cherry Drive Elementary has been using restorative practices to improve peer-to-peer interactions and problem solving skills. Their Social Emotional Learning Specialist, Ms. Fryer, has been teaching 4th and 5th grade students restorative practices by focusing on these questions:
- What happened?
- Who was involved and how?
- What part in this situation can you take responsibility for?
- What is needed to make things right?
Our Restorative Justice (RJ) student leaders will start facilitating these conversations with other students who are experiencing a conflict with a peer. At Cherry Drive, we pride ourselves in ensuring that we continuously focus on our student’s social and emotional wellness.
