Coronado Hills teacher champions cooperative learning

Coronado Hill's dedicated English Language Development teacher Stevie Rosch is being celebrated for her use of  cooperative learning strategies to support student success.

Rosch was recently published and acknowledged for her outstanding use of the four principles of the foundation of Kagan Cooperative Learning — PIES. The "P" in PIES stands for positive interdependence. The "I" is individual accountability and the "E" is equal participation. The final "S" in PIES stands for simultaneous interaction

Rosch's work highlights how intentional structures and strategies can create equitable, engaging opportunities for all learners to thrive.

"Her passion and dedication extend far beyond the walls of Coronado Hills," said Cathy Cahill, principal of Coronado Hills. "She is making an impact on the broader educational community by sharing her expertise and commitment to language learners everywhere."

Special thanks to the Coronado Hills Elementary community for submitting this Five Star Story.
