🌱 Healthy Habits, Happy Hearts! 💜💛💜

Five Star Online Academy took wellness to a whole new level with an exciting event that brought together students, families, teachers, and community partners to learn about health and well-being. From nutrition to mindfulness, everyone had a blast while building healthy habits! 🙌

Elementary students embraced the power of growing their own food, cultivating herbs like cilantro, basil, and parsley in our school’s hydroponic garden. These fresh ingredients were then used to make salsa, served with crunchy chips — a delicious and nutritious treat! 🌿

Secondary students showcased their creativity by designing and hanging up vibrant posters to promote the event, blending art with education.

Our incredible partners made the event even more special:

- CU Anschutz shared the health benefits of red foods like beets and pomegranates 🥝
- Know Your Roots guided us through the fascinating world of pickling and fermentation 🥒
- Breathe for Change led calming yoga and mindfulness activities to help students focus and relax 🧘‍♀️

The evening was filled with enriching activities such as:
- A community mural project
- Yoga sessions and dance fitness
- Interactive workshops on healthy red foods and fermentation
- A delicious, health-conscious dinner with gluten-free and vegetarian options 🍞

As one student said, “It was so cool to see how food and fun can come together to help us stay healthy!” 🌟
