Five Star Online student wins Congressional Art Competition

U.S. Representative Gabe Evans named Antonio Gonzalez of Five Star Online Academy as the winner of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition in Colorado’s Eighth District.

On June 25, Antonio was honored with fellow student artists from across the nation at the Congressional Art Competition Winners’ Celebration in Washington DC. His artwork will be displayed at the Cannon Tunnel in the United States Capital for a full year.

A framed artwork of an eagle superimposed on a distressed American flag with a blue section bearing the number "250" is displayed against a blurred office background.

Antonio is a gifted artist and shares his talent with the community by displaying his artwork at local galleries.

About the Competition
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
