Former Legacy Star steps onto World Cup Stage

The 2022 FIFA World Cup began on Saturday, November 20 with 32 teams from across the world competing in Qatar. A Five Star Alum has joined the world's top athletes for an opportunity that few can imagine. Canadian citizen and Legacy High Alumni Tajon Buchanan has made it to the Canadian National World Cup Roster as their starting Midfielder.

Tajon Buchanan was born in the Toronto area where he found a home on a local club team, the Mississauga Falcons. Home would change in 2015 when Buchanan tagged along with Mississauga head coach and family friend Chrys Chrysanthou to Denver, Colorado. Buchanan found the club he had hoped for in Real Colorado, but due to his unusual living situation, FIFA declared him ineligible to play until he turned 18. While working on his training and his academic eligibility at Legacy High, he also joined the Legacy Bolts team where he was named Class 5A's State Player of the Year in 2016 and Gatorade's State Player of the Year in 2017.

Fast forward to 2022 where Buchanan was named to the Official Canadian World Cup roster on November 12. Buchanan set foot on the world stage against Belgium on November 11, continuing his performance against Croatia on November 27, and competing against Morocco on Thursday, December 1st. Buchanan is representing both the Five Star Community and his country in this World Cup performance, and we couldn't be more proud.
