French immersion day celebrates language and culture

At the end of January, all five comprehensive high schools: Horizon, Legacy, Mountain Range, Northglenn and Thornton, held a French Immersion Day event at the Educational Support Center to promote the French language in the district.

Students participated in French language competitions; skits, problem-based learning challenges, art, recipe making, show and tell, and cultural lessons on la dance, les crêpes, la bûche de Noël and l'art. They also heard from our very own Djiby Ndiaye, a teacher from Mountain Range, who spoke about his home country, Senegal.

Students in Adams 12 French Language programs were able to demonstrate their language skills and cultural understanding within a positive and community supported setting. Most importantly, the students walked away with trophees, certificates, gift bags, smiles and confidence in their language skills! Allez les élèves!
