Frozen Kids Melts Hearts at Glacier Peak: A Community Stage Debut

This year, Glacier Peak Elementary experienced something brand new—and unforgettable. For the first time, our school launched an after-school drama club, bringing 60 third through fifth graders together to perform Frozen Kids. The production gave students more than just a role on stage—it gave them purpose, pride, and a place to belong.

From the very first rehearsal, the excitement was electric. Students threw themselves into every part of the process—learning lines, music, choreography, blocking, and how to work together as a cast. For many, this was their first time on stage. Some were nervous to audition. Others had never sung in front of a crowd. But by the time performance week arrived, they had taken full ownership of the show. They cared deeply about the outcome, cheered each other on, and supported one another as teammates.

I’ve never seen some of these kids light up the way they did in rehearsal. You could tell it meant something to them—it belonged to them.

One of the most special moments along the way was our Community Night in January. Families came together to help us get ready for the big show—painting set pieces, creating props like Olaf’s snow flurry, and ironing costumes borrowed from a local costume warehouse. The room was filled with laughter, teamwork, and pride. It was a powerful reminder that this musical was more than a school production—it was a community effort.

When the curtain rose on performance night, the gym was packed. The students shone on stage—confident, joyful, and proud of what they had built together. They told the story of Frozen beautifully, but even more importantly, they told their own story: one of growth, collaboration, and the magic that happens when students are empowered to take the lead.

Frozen Kids at Glacier Peak was a celebration of everything we believe in. It embodied the ELEVATE strengths of Empowerment, Engagement, Collaboration, and Care. It showed what can happen when students are given the chance to shine—and when a community shows up to support them.

This was just the beginning. And we can’t wait to see what these young performers do next.
