FutureForward is visited by kind Westgate students
- Care
- Collaborate
February 17, was Kindness Day, and the 1st and 2nd graders from Mrs. Reeder’s and Ms. Paula Koenig’s classes from Westgate Community School visited FutureForward at Washington Square. They got a sneak peek into the classrooms to see what they are learning. There were students from Firefighting dressed out and shared what they were doing along with students from Construction who came out with their hardhats on from working and shared as well. They had a chance to walk through the Diesel classroom and see the firetruck and cop cars, then even had a chance to explore EMT and what they were doing in class. A few of the students even had a chance on the stretcher! The students asked excellent questions and passed out their Kindness Cards to students and teachers here. This tradition is always a highlight of our day, and even theirs!
Special thanks to the Westgate community for submitting this Five Star Story. We appreciate seeing collaboration between schools to ELEVATE student success.
This story exemplifies our ELEVATE Focus Area: Outside-the-Classroom Learning. Sharing stories about how the district offers students multiple learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom providing various pathways to success.
