Northglenn Senior essential to Native American initiatives

Leia Duran is a Northglenn High School senior leading many events and initiatives within our district and community to educate and celebrate Native American cultures.

Native American Heritage Month is essential to celebrating the Native cultures within the Five Star District. Adams 12 Five Star Schools acknowledges Indigenous relatives who have lived in and cared for this ancient land from time immemorial and acknowledges the close relationship that our tribal Nations continue to have with the waters, plants, and all moving things that call this Land home.

Vantage Point High School is hosting our District Wide Family Cultural Nights for the 2022-2023 School Year. The Family Cultural Nights cover a variety of topics throughout the school year. They will be having a Community Potluck on November 14th where attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish to share with the group, and on November 28th, the students will present the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Land Acknowledgement.

Indigenous and Non-Indigenous community members are encouraged to attend and participate.
