Partnering to provide vision care for students

Over the fall, Adams 12 Five Star School Nurses launched a partnership with Eye Love Care's "No Vision Left Behind" program to provide eye exams and glasses to students at all of our Title I schools. This program offers comprehensive eye exams and frames at no cost to families or schools. When a student is found to need glasses, they can select frames immediately, and the glasses are fitted at the school once ready.

Two individuals, a young woman in a red shirt and a young woman in a plaid skirt, are standing at a table filled with various items, likely in a school or educational setting, as indicated by the bulletin boards and other classroom-like features in the background.

Before winter break, the program visited seven schools, examined 682 students, and provided glasses to 383 student roughly 56 percent of those seen.

A young boy with glasses is making a peace sign gesture while standing in a library or classroom setting, surrounded by bookshelves and furniture.

District Registered Nurses and school Health Aides have been instrumental in obtaining consent, particularly for students who didn't pass their annual vision screening. We are grateful for this opportunity to enhance students' learning through proper vision correction.

The image shows two young girls, one wearing a blue t-shirt and the other a gray sweatshirt, standing in what appears to be a library or bookstore setting, with shelves of books visible in the background.
