- Care
- Focus on Students
Yesenia Sanchez was recognized by the CU Boulder's Bueno Center for Multicultural Education as being this year's Outstanding Family Liaison of the Year.
Her nomination read: Yesenia is an outstanding Family Outreach Liaison, as she embodies Adams 12 Five Star Schools strengths of care, collaborating, engaging, empowering, and focusing on students in her daily work. She is highly skilled at building trusting relationships with colleagues, families, and students. Yesenia considers all circumstances through a strengths-based lens, thus cultivating deep mutual trust among those she works with. She engages in high-level planning and implementation of attendance-boosting strategies for her school community each year. The projects encourage attendance through interactive bulletin boards and earned rewards. When students are chronically absent or tardy, Yesenia recognizes this as an opportunity to seek understanding and partner with the family to make a plan to address the child's needs.
