STEM Launch students invited to national KidWind Challenge

Earlier in March, STEM Launch fourth graders competed against multiple schools in a regional KidWind Challenge, where one of the school's teams took FIRST place!

Our students loved working in teams to explore the power of wind energy by designing, building and testing a functional wind turbine. Our students collaborated closely on their engineering designs and decided as a group how they would present them to a panel of judges.

Following their first place victory, the students from STEM Launch have been invited to compete in the ninth annual World KidWind Challenge in Minneapolis, Minnesota with the following letter:

We're inviting the top performers from this year's KidWind Challenges to compete head-to-head in the ninth annual World KidWind Challenge. Using your knowledge from the building process and the judges’ feedback, get started tweaking your turbine, or building a new one from scratch.
