Teacher selected to work with Commissioner Córdova

Jessie Kokoszka, one of the ELD teachers at the Newcomer Center at Thornton High School has been selected to be part of the Colorado Commissioner's Teacher Cabinet. Jessie will be working with Commissioner Susana Córdova and educators from across the state to advocate for students and share her perspective, and feedback on state-level issues.
Members of the Teacher Cabinet serve two-year terms so Jessie will be a voice for Adams 12 Five Star Schools and especially the Newcomer population of the Five Star District through October of 2027. Jessie is an outstanding educator. She has experience teaching in a general education elementary classroom as well as ELD for students K-12. Her passion for equity and her ability to focus on individual student needs will serve her well in this position and make her a strong choice for representing Adams 12 Five Star Schools! Congratulations, Jessie!
