Young leaders turn kindness into action

The Student Leadership Club at Arapahoe Ridge Elementary is showing the community just how powerful kindness can be.

When asked to choose a cause beyond their school walls, these students didn’t hesitate—they chose to support Children’s Hospital, turning compassion into action.

Though small in number, this group is making a big impact through two meaningful campaigns. First, they are collecting soda can tabs to help raise funds toward a child’s cancer treatments, proving that even the smallest items can make a life-changing difference. Their second initiative focuses on comfort and care: creating cozy, no-sew fleece blankets for children to use while receiving medical treatments.

Two young girls sitting on the floor, surrounded by colorful pillows and cushions, appear to be engaged in a conversation or activity together in what seems to be a school or educational setting.

Their enthusiasm inspired them to reach out to their school's PTO for support, and the response has been incredible. Not only is the PTO funding additional fleece so more blankets can be made, but staff members across the school have also stepped up to donate and support the cause.

The image shows three young women in a classroom setting, with one of them holding a large yellow object that appears to be a costume or prop.

The Student Leadership Club’s generosity and heart for others is truly inspiring. Their kindness is contagious, lighting up our school community and reminding us all that the future is bright when young leaders lead with compassion.
