Delayed Start FAQs

Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, in the event of inclement weather, the district may call a 1-hour delayed start or close all schools. This is a change from the 2-hour delay in previous school years to 1 hour.

Reason for Change: Starting with the 2020-2021 school year, the district moved daily bell schedules 30 minutes later at all levels. To be more in alignment with this change, we moved from the previous 2-hour delayed start to 1-hour delayed start beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.

If schools are open but a parent feels, based on personal circumstances, that conditions pose a safety concern for their child getting to or from school they can call the school for an excused absence.

• Half-day morning preschool will be canceled
• Half-day afternoon preschool will start at the normally scheduled time
• Full-day preschool will start one hour later and morning extended childcare will not be available

Activities and field trips during the school day that require transportation will be canceled; After-school activities will be decided by the school.
