Employee Recognition

How do we ELEVATE student success? By celebrating our amazing employees! Adams 12 Five Star Schools, in partnership with the District Twelve Educators Association (DTEA) and the Classified School Employees' Association (CSEA), are proud of each and every employee in the district and are honored to recognize exemplary employees as identified by colleagues.

Each spring, employees are invited to nominate colleagues who go above and beyond for the success of students. Nominations are accepted for classified, certified, administrative and substitute. Read about our employees of the year. 

The Diversity and Equity Award recognizes staff members who provide exceptional leadership and outstanding commitment to the advancement of excellence through diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in Adams 12 Five Star Schools. Nominations are considered for a leader who: 

• Models and enhances the value of diversity, equity and inclusion, deepening the ability of others to share and engage with diverse perspectives.
• Facilitates student and staff learning regarding diversity, equity, cultural understanding that emphasizes a sense of belonging.
• Demonstrates an exceptional commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through an initiative, strategy, programming, training or influential accomplishment this school year.
• Strives to maximize the success and inclusion of all district students, staff, and faculty.
• Employs a definition of diversity that includes the following -- disability, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, race, ethnicity, nationality, and other social dimensions that are part of a school community.

Employees nominate colleagues in the spring and the winner(s) is recognized at the end of the school year.

The “Strengths in Action” award recognizes a Five Star employee, family or community member who exemplifies one of our ELEVATE strengths in an extraordinary way: care, collaboration, empower, engage or focus on students. Staff are invited to nominate a staff, family or community member in the spring. Winners will be selected based on strength exemplified and quality of story. 

Volunteers are among the Five Star District's most valuable assets in providing the best possible education for each student. From volunteering in the classroom to leading a districtwide accountability committee, volunteers serve in various roles all to the contribution of elevating student success. If you are interested in volunteering with the district or committee or other avenue, visit Get Involved. 

Nominations for volunteers of the year will be provided in the spring and winners will be recognized at the end of the school year.
