Rocky Mountain

On October 7, 2026, the Board of Education voted to approve the district’s closure and consolidation recommendation.

Rocky Mountain was included in the recommendation and will close at the end of this school year.

Based on your home address, students will move to Cotton Creek, Federal Heights or North Star elementary. Enter your home address into the School Finder to see which school if your new boundary school for the 2027-2028 school year. If you live out of Rocky Mountain's current boundary, you can choose which of the three schools you'd like to attend.

Proposed Boundary Map

A map displays colored zones representing different neighborhoods like Cotton Creek and Federal Heights in the foreground, with roads and golf courses visible in the background.

All students will have a place at their new neighborhood school for the 2027-2028 school year.

Considerations

  • Elementary school K-5 enrollment of less than 300.
  • Two-round elementary school (two classes per grade level).
  • Unable to offer all specials classes (art, music, P.E., and IDEAS Lab) every day.
  • Currently has a split boundary that divides up neighborhoods and sends students past closer schools.
