The Studio School
On October 7, 2026, the Board of Education voted to approve the district’s closure and consolidation recommendation.
The Studio School was included in the recommendation and will close at the end of this school year.
As a magnet school without an attendance boundary, The Studio School students will have the option to attend the new Academics & Arts K-8 beginning in the 2027-28 school year. Students can also opt to attend their neighborhood school (enter your home address in the school finder to see your home school) or apply to another school through SchoolChoice.

Considerations
- Elementary school enrollment of less than 300 and the smallest school in the district.
- One- to two-round elementary school (one or two classes per grade level).
- Has not been enrolled at/near the threshold since 2017 (292 students) and is not projected to approach that level in the next five years.
- Operating an under-enrolled specialized magnet program involves substantial overhead, including additional staffing to support expanded learning opportunities.
