The Hispanic Advisory Council (HAC) is a group of Adams 12 community members who value the richness and diversity that our Hispanic culture brings to the educational system in Adams 12 Five Star Schools. We are Adams 12 parents, grandparents, students, district employees and local businesses who believe in diversity and equality for all students.
The mission of the HAC is to lead and influence positive change in education and the quality of life for the community members of Adams 12 Five Star Schools. We work to advocate for students, parents, families and staff who may be placed in an unacceptable situation due to their ethnicity, cultural values and/or differences in language.
The HAC also coordinates and hosts annual awards ceremonies recognizing students, staff and community members for their achievement and contribution to the Hispanic Community. The awards include presentation of scholarships to deserving Adams 12 high school seniors who wish to attend college, trade school and post secondary education.

HAC is open to all community members. Meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome. You are invited to attend any HAC event. Spanish interpretation is provided at each meeting and free child care is available upon request.
2020 Hispanic Advisory Council Awards
For the past twelve years the Hispanic Advisory Council (HAC) has devoted this time of year to honoring Adams 12 Five Star students, staff and community members at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
- Students are nominated by teachers, counselors and administrators for making significant academic progress, participating in the classroom, providing assistance to others, good attendance and participating in extracurricular activities.
- Certified, classified and administrative staff are nominated by their peers for making a difference in the lives and academic experience of Hispanic students, their families and the community.
- Community members who live and volunteer in the District are nominated by staff and administrators for their commitment to the advancement of Hispanic students.
Each year the HAC takes pride in recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of students and the hard work of staff and community volunteers, and presenting each nominee with a certificate and a proud moment in front of families and our school community. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, HAC is unable to safely hold the 2020 Awards Ceremony. However, HAC has received 263 nominations of exceptional students and staff and we are proud to honor them here.
Congratulations to all nominees!
Thank you for your hard work and service to the Five Star community.
