Welcome to Five Star Stadium, which has proudly been serving the Adams 12 Five Star Schools for over 40 years. The stadium seats approximately 7,500 spectators and can be set-up to host football, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, track, graduations and band competitions. In 2002 Five Star Stadium served as the site for the 5A State Championship game.
The playing surface is a newly installed synthetic field turf which is surrounded by an all weather track. There is a grass practice field at the west end of stadium which also holds discuss, internally there is a shot put ring, long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault. In 2002, the press box, concessions and restrooms were renovated. The two story press box serves well for home and visiting coaching staffs, announcer and scorekeepers, media and film crews. The stadium is fully equipped with sound system and wireless mics. The stadium features home and away concession stands and the locker rooms overlook the field.

The north stadium, which opened in August of 2007, seats approximately 2,500 spectators not including overflow to the grass areas. The stadium can be set-up to host football, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, track, graduations and band competitions. The stadium has also been a frequent host of the youth football league’s Carnation Bowl.
The stadium is comprised of a synthetic field turf, all weather track, shot put and discuss areas along with a natural grass practice field. In addition, the stadium has long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault. Building amenities include home and visitor locker rooms, referee room, home and visitor concessions as well as a state of the art press box with coaches rooms and a rooftop filming area. The stadium operates off of Musco Field Lights with state of the art technology, control link track timing system and Daktronics scoreboard.

The Adams 12 Five Star Schools Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center (VMAC) is a 765,000-gallon 50-meter Olympic-sized pool with one 3-meter and three 1-meter spring boards. The VMAC is home to the Five Star District’s boys and girls swimming and diving teams. Groundbreaking on the $19.5 million facility occurred on June 9th, 2009 and it was substantially complete on August 6th, 2010.
This 43,574 square foot facility features a 22,481 square foot natatorium which can house 800 athletes, coaches and meet personnel between the pool and deck area. Spectator seating is located above the natatorium and offers the ideal view for each of the 10 competitive lanes or all 21 practice lanes and diving boards. The VMAC bleacher area boasts seating for approximately 842 spectators which makes this an ideal location for hosting the State Swimming and Diving meet as well as other major competitions.

Facility Highlights
The VMAC is fully equipped with the latest technology and filtration systems to allow the most efficient usage of water and energy.
The VMAC also features men’s and women’s locker rooms with showers and lockers, meet management room, unisex restroom, two downstairs lobbies, admissions booth, vending area and upstairs concessions stand, spectator restrooms and a lobby.
Outside the VMAC to the north end of the building you will find the Thornton Veterans Memorial. In the lower level lobby, prior to entering the pool, you will find another veterans memorial which honors Adams 12 Five Star Schools graduates who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces.
The VMAC is a collaborative effort between Adams 12 Five Star Schools and the City of Thornton. The City of Thornton donated the land on which the VMAC is located, will care for the surrounding landscaping and has contributed approximately $1.36 million towards the site work, parking, landscaping and irrigation. The VMAC will be operated by the school district and the City of Thornton will utilize some space for programming.
Who Uses The VMAC?
Along with hosting practice and meets for the district swimming and diving teams the VMAC also hosts practice and meets for various user groups. The VMAC welcomes outside user groups to rent space for practice and or meets/events.
